L.A. proved too much for the man
(Too much for the man, he couldn’t make it)
So he’s leaving a life he’s come to know, ooh
(He said he’s going)
He said he’s going back to find
(Going back to find)
Ooh, ooh, ooh, what’s left of his world
The world he left behind not so long ago
He’s leaving (leaving)
On that midnight train to Georgia, yeah
(Leaving on the midnight train)
Said he’s going back
(Going back to find)
To a simpler place and time, oh yes, he is (whenever he takes that ride)
(Guess who’s gonna be right by his side)
And I’ll be with him
(I know you will)
On that midnight train to Georgia
(Leaving on a midnight train to Georgia, woo, woo)
I’d rather live in his world (live in his world)
Then live without him in mine
(Her world is his, his and hers alone)…
You may be saying, “How did this get here”
As I was watching the Capitol Fourth on KERA, Our Public Broadcasting Station in the Dallas/Fort Worth market, Gladys Knight and the Pips performed this song and the lyrics are still in my head.
Especially, To a simpler place and time, oh yes, he is (whenever he takes that ride)
What could be a simpler place and time than being totally with Jesus as the center of your life as the predominant force in your life? It can truly give you peace beyond explanation. Just think, anytime something goes different than you planned, God had a better idea. And doing things his way always brings a blessing.
The blessing can be as simple as God’s got your attention. You stayed in a peaceful mode. Your ability to be patient was strengthened. And hopefully, you said Thank you, Jesus.
And then there is the line, “I’d rather live in His world Than live without Him in mine. We should all strive to live in Jesus’s world. It really is much better… Jesus is a very solid rock to lean on… and if we are striving to Get To Heaven… It’s the only place to be…
Taking it back to the real basics… Why did God create you… “God made me (you) to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world, and to be happy with Him forever in the next.” There is no way we are able to do this if we are not in His World. Which means He is the Center of our lives.
We have to replace our ego (edging God out) with putting God in the center of everything. Think about this… God is Love… so if we were to become like Jesus… We would become Love…
God is the Supreme Being, infinitely perfect, who made all things and keeps them in existence.
Spend some time thinking about that… If God were to leave you for a second… you would cease to exist… Jesus is standing at the door of your heart… knocking, hoping, and praying that you will wake up and let Him in so He can fill you with His Love, Peace, and Understanding.
God made us to show forth His goodness and to share with us His everlasting happiness in heaven.
What must we do to gain the happiness of heaven?
To gain the happiness of heaven we must know, love, and serve God in this world.
Lay not up to yourselves treasures on earth; where the rust and moth consume and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up to yourselves treasures in heaven; where neither the rust nor moth doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. (Matthew 6:19-20)
From whom do we learn to know, love, and serve God?
We learn to know, love, and serve God from Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who teaches us through the Catholic Church.
I have come a light into the world that whoever believes in Me may not remain in darkness. (John 12:46)
As for me… I truly wish to live in His world than live without Him in mine… I truly hope and pray that you will see the light and do the same… Peace, Love, and Joy await you in this world and especially in Heaven, where you will spend eternity with God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, and all the Saints and Angels… Where Joy abounds and LOVE is the order of the day…
