Sharing The Wisdom

Sharing the Wisdom attained from my morning readings…

From Blessed Fulton J Sheen

Bishop Sheen relates to a time when he gave a retreat in a maximum-security prison where there were two thousand inmates. Bishop Sheen realized that all of them thought that he was good and they were bad.

So, how could he begin? Well, he began saying, “Gentlemen, I want you to know that there is one great difference between you and me. You got caught. I didn’t.”

In other words, we are all sinners.

When you are kind to others, you are kind to yourself, when you demean others, you destroy yourself.  Proverbs 11: 17

And from Mother Angelica

Admit it, we’re all battling against God’s Will and our own wills. Give me one example of a problem you have, and I’ll make a bet; you battling God’s will.

And from my Thoughts

Bless us O Lord and these thy gifts, which I (we)  are about to receive from thy bounty through Christ, Our Lord, Amen

This is a prayer Catholics say before meals. In doing so we are acknowledging that this food and funds to purchase it, the strength and focus it took to prepare it came from God. You say you worked hard for the funds to purchase that food. Consider all those disabled by strokes and other maladies that are unable to work or prepare something to eat. Except for the Grace of God, there goes you and me.

Take to heart: The body, (your body) depends on the soul. The soul depends on God. The fact is when the soul leaves the body, the body is dead and you are unable to say when that will be.

My thought, this morning was that this prayer would be great any time of the day or night, as we encounter the birds, flowers, grass, our bed, our home, and all that we encounter. For it is all from God, Our Loving Father. The least we can do is say, Thank You, Lord.

Everything is a Blessing if we accept it as such. I realize at the time it occurs, it may not seem like it, but if we don’t lose our cool and just stay calm, we soon will see a blessing. At the very least, God should have gotten our attention.

A devout prayer life brings peace, beyond all understanding.
