Be Part of the Great Thing That is Happening Today

When we are telling God what we want, do we ever consider the agenda of God. Consider the Lord, the Creator of the Universe, of all the animals, plants, trees, streams, rivers, oceans, valleys, hills, mountains, the environment, of you and me… of everything that is… has been… or will be…

The sustainer of all that is, which includes you and I. In essence, our power source in this world and beyond…

When we are bombarding God with our list of wants, do we ever consider that He, the Creator of all has an agenda, a plan to do awesome things today… someone with an awesome project… How great would it be to just say, Lord, I know you have awesome plans for today… Could I please be part of your plans for today?

Lord just fill me with the Holy Spirit, and take me where I will be most useful in making your awesome plans for today… reality… Let me be totally amazed at how much better life is when you are in charge… When I are allowing You to use me as the instruments you created me to be…

To do this, we must know and do the will of God… when Jesus was ask…Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40 NIV

For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings. Hosea 6:6 NIV

Consider who is your neighbor? First of all it is your wife, your husband… then your children, only then people that live outside your home in your community. The greatest response I have ever heard of a young man asking a father for the hand of his daughter in marriage, when ask what are your plans for my daughter? The young man’s answer was, “To get Her to Heaven”. That should be the goal all of us adhere to…

When ask to join her in Calcutta… Saint Mother Teresa replied… “Stay where you are – find your own Calcutta. Find the sick, the suffering, the lonely, right there where you are – in your own homes and in your own families, in your own workplaces and schools.”

And from Saint John Paul The Great… “Most Catholics aren’t reading the Bible, the Catechism, or papal documents: They are reading one another.” and I would add most people…

From Bishop Robert Baron… “Your faith will grow only in the measure you give it away.”

Back to where I started… Acknowledge that God is doing an awesome work today… Ask Him to let you be part of it… Maybe for the first time… Let God be in charge… He sees the whole picture and has a much better plan than you or I to make it a great day and get us to Heaven… Eternal life with God, Mary, the angels, and all the Saints…
