Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry

Great advice from Saint Padre Pio of Pietrelcina. Saint Pio had the Stigmata ( the 5 wounds of Jesus Crucified) for over 50 years. He had a direct line to the Lord. He was truly blessed and a blessing to all that encountered him, in person or writings of his, or about him.

There are many verses in the Bible where Jesus talks about anxiety, which is a synonym for anger.

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

Romans 8:28

Basically, Jesus is telling us that being anxious/worrying is useless, senseless, and a waste of time and energy.

It serves no purpose, except to impede our health and put our attention on something we have no control over. While prayer takes us to God and allows God to know what we are concerned about and are giving it to Him to work out our concern as Our Loving Father.

A Father who has our best interest at heart. Remember He sacrificed His only Son on the Cross to save us from eternal damnation. A great practice would be to persistently take it to The Lord, visualize the outcome we desire, and Let Go And Let God work His loving answer to our concerns. Remember He has the whole movie of our life, while we only have a frame, a snippet.

Sometimes God feels it best to leave things as they are. Saint Paul prayed to have the thorn removed from his side. God chose to leave it there saying in your weakness I am strong and it is a reminder that you need me. Offer it up for poor sinners and for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

In our pain, we can be one with Christ in His agony and passion. Besides encountering rejection, humiliation, and more from birth, Jesus suffered The Agony in the Garden, where He saw all our sins, The Scourging at the Pilar, The Crowing With Thorns, the Carrying of the Cross, and finally The Crucifixion and Death on the Cross. Offer up your pain to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for the souls of poor sinners, and for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. Don’t let it go to waste by not offering it up.

The useless practice of worry, being anxious cannot add anything to your life or the life you are worried about. So take your concerns to God in prayer and let go and let God in His loving care work out the best outcome for all… To God be the Glory…

Life is Precious, Handle it with Prayer,
