By The Grace of God, We Have The Power

Let us look intently on the Apostles, now 11 and scared to death of what is to come. Only John stayed, to accompany Mother Mary in her grief.

After the Crucifixion, they locked themselves in the Upper Room. The same room where Jesus ordained them as our first priest and Instituted the Blessed Sacrament of His own Body and Blood, which Padre Pio referred to as the Sacrament of Love.

Now the Risen Lord appears to them and assures them that all is well. They go out only in their own little group and again Jesus appears to them and even cooks them a meal.

Than Jesus Ascends into Heaven and now they are back locked in the upper room. Days of prayer pass, and behold the Holy Spirit comes upon them.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free” Lk 4:18).

Now with the strength, courage and tenacity of super men, ready to accomplish super feats, they go forth unafraid, and proclaim the Word of the Lord, which so fills the crowd with joy and love that 3,000 are baptized into the new church, the Body of Christ.

Such power comes from the Holy Spirit and it is available to all, who seek it. Invite the Holy Spirit into your life. Let Him give you a yearning to make choices every day that honor God’s Plans, rather than sticking to our hour by hour plans.

Today, we live in inflationary times, with food, rent, gas and so much more increasing in price. People are being priced out of their homes daily.

My next door neighbor is now living in her car, because her rent was increased beyond her income.

Banning together, we can stem this tide of evictions, hunger, homelessness. If you would like to know how, let me know.

God Bless You, and thank you for subscribing to and reading my blogs.
